When I learned that 93% of the Brazilian rainforest where I was born has disappeared, I moved into action by starting a reforestation project with rural partners. When you help me to give the Gift of Trees, they go to subsistence farm families to plant on their deforested land. We are planting hope.

You are actually supporting an entire grassroots network of social enterprises: sustainable seed harvesters, an association of organic tree nurseries, small NGOs and farm families who live on degraded land. Together, we are the stewards of the planet’s precious natural resources.

We plant trees…thousands of trees…with a goal of millions of trees. This reforestation process supports global cooling, the return of wildlife and Nature’s biodiversity. And, you have probably heard along the way, that I’ve worked with the hundreds of people who have started social enterprises that are doing some amazing work in the world. Today I want to introduce you to one of them, Alana Lea, and ask you to MATCH OR SURPASS MY GIFT to her tree planting initiative.

Alana will describe below, what the iGiveTrees campaign has done over the last few years. They’ve given nearly 5,000 trees back to an endangered rainforest in Brazil, through crowdfunding.

That means, people like you and me, can each be part of a solution to climate change..

Last year, I gave 300 trees back to the Earth, in a place where it supports a whole network of social entrepreneurs who are gathering seeds, growing trees, teaching people how to plant and maintain them. I loved doing it, and so today I’m asking you to join me and make some real impact!

If everyone in my community who reads this would plant at least one tree – or even one tree a month – we could be responsible for replacing a whole forest back on the planet. How globally cooling is that?

My name is Alana, and some people call me “a real world Lorax.” Like the Lorax in the storybook, I speak for the trees. And today, I’m asking you to join me in a LOVING call to action!

When I learned that 93% of the Brazilian rainforest where I was born has disappeared, I moved into action by starting a reforestation project with rural partners. When you help me to give the Gift of Trees, they go to subsistence farm families to plant on their deforested land. We are planting hope.

You are actually supporting an entire grassroots network of social enterprises: sustainable seed harvesters, an association of organic tree nurseries, small NGOs and farm families who live on degraded land. Together, we are the stewards of the planet’s precious natural resources.

We plant trees…thousands of trees…with a goal of millions of trees. This reforestation process supports global cooling, the return of wildlife and Nature’s biodiversity. And our hundreds of species of tropical trees have a better chance of growing to maturity, faster, able to sink more carbon than trees planted in the backyards of the Northern Hemisphere.
